Historische botterwerf keert terug in Vollenhove. Het word een levendige terugkeer voor het Veno’s Skutien. De botterwerf wordt een informatief centrum en leerplaats voor onderhoud voor deze schepen.

De Botter VN66 krijgt een nieuwe thuishaven in de Botterwerf Vollenhove. De VN66 is een van de laatst overgebleven Botters uit de geschiedenis van de Vollenhoofsche visserij. Het schip is gebouwd in 1902 en is volledig gerestaureerd. Dankzij de vrijwilligers van het Venose skutien kunt u genieten van een onvergetelijke dag op dit varend monument.

De VN66 kent een roerige historie. De zuidwalbotter is in 1902 gebouwd op de werf van Kok en Kooij in Huizen. Onder de naam HZ73 visten de gebroeders Brand onder de Huizense vlag in de Zuiderzee. Vanaf 1929 verdiende Urker visser Jan Brouwer de kost met zijn UK137. De laatste naamsverandering vond plaats toen Geert Spit uit Vollenhove de boot in 1947 overnam. Hij nummerde het schip om tot VN66 en viste er mee op het IJsselmeer, onder meer waar nu de polders Oostelijk en Zuidelijk Flevoland liggen. Toen Spit het welletjes vond, voer hij met zijn familie een afscheidstoer langs verschillende plaatsen aan het IJsselmeer. De oude schuit zou nog eens driemaal van eigenaar verwisselen voordat ze in 2005 terug zou keren in Vollenhove.

Vollenhove, a rich history

Vollenhove is a small town with a rich history. In the year 994, the town was mentioned for the first time in the Netherlands under the name Fulnaho (bird forest). It was a large forest and an important area for hunting. In the following years, the town of Vollenhove grew bigger. In the 12th century a fortress and a church were built.
